LOL! Is that tacky? I will make no promises as to the frequency that I will post but I do want to give it a whirl again so that I can join some card making challenges and challenge myself personally to craft more.

Here is a little something I have worked on previously for a friend and hopefully I will have more to post soon.

This is all done on the Cricut, other then the 3D base which I found on Pinterest and adapted it to fit the size of this project.
This is a card that I have made multiples of in many different shapes etc because I think it is so versatile and simple but pretty! Its hard to see but there is some white enamel accents on this card as well. I'm really loving all of this colouring!
I've been checking out all sorts of new blogs and trying out some new paper and tools in my craft room. I found a few new challenges that I am going to try out this week and this one, Bitten By the Bug 2 and Crafty Boots felt like a great place to start. I've been trying to pull my cricut out more so this was a great way to do that.

This card uses Birthday Bash cartridge by Provo Craft and this new fantastic paper I just got called paper layerz which is made for the cricut and is coloured coordinated with 9 different squares of colour and pattern on the page so you don't need to switch out tons of paper to make your card. I did this whole card with one sheet of the paper layerz and a piece of black and white.

1. I just published a comment from 2011 .... sad.
2. I haven't posed since January 2012 ... sad.
3. I haven't done a challenge in who knows how long ... sad.

I'm not going to make any goals here because I just can't promise how much I will blog but I miss it and I miss checking out all the other blogs out there for ideas and inspiration. So I'm just going to try and be better. :)

I have some photos for a class that I will be doing at Scrapbook Parade in the near future. It is a Christmas class which I thought would be sort of difficult to get in the mood for and shockingly it was not. I put on Anne of Green Gables (one of my go-to crafting movies) sat down with a big class of water and got totally inspired for Christmas. So here are the photos for that class:

I tried 3 shots of this and it still doesn't show that the bottom is made out of layered 1.5 inch circles all with different embossing ... you will just have to imagine it! :)

This is a combination post .... of two sets of card classes I am going to be doing at our local scrapbook store out here in Victoria. Scrapbook Parade is close to home and the new place I will be spending my Sundays! lol I will also be doing a card of the month club and these are the first two classes.

and

Its sort of hard to see but that card in the middle is a 3D box that folds into an envelope and I am love with this technique. I'm trying to brainstorm some Christmas cards for next year using the 3D style. I will try and get a few individual shots of that card so you can see it better.

If your interested in the details of the paper and line being used check out Scrapbook Parade and their facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/#!/ScrapbookParade

Well today I came across a blog that I must have just looked at their sketch challenge a certain way because it inspired me to create a present card. I tried to capture all of the elements they wanted with a little twist. I used a Christmas stamp that I have had for at least 3 years and never used (sad) and tried out my new nestabilities (spelling) for the tag. Side note on that: I got them to cut but not emboss, any idea's why that would be? I also broke into the pack of fancy new Stampin' Up paper that I have had for a few weeks now and not used. Overall I am happy with the outcome!

You should check out their site there is still a bit of time to play along! Scrapbooker's Paradise

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 242px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3E63SmrOdCI/TsMRLJxEzQI/AAAAAAAAAXY/GA-2w5vkQ-w/s320/ChristmasGift.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5675398838714944770" />

I really need to get moving on Christmas cards (grand total of 2 now!) and now that we are getting later in November I feel the Christmas crafting spirit hitting me so hopefully I can make more!

I've been learning to knit since the beginning of the month and it has been an interesting challenge. I'm left handed but decided to just give it a whirl right-handed and its come out alright so far. I am just finishing up my very first knitted project, a scarf and I will post a picture soon.

LAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7812516079831275070.post-62779631867384131562011-10-06T19:41:00.000-07:002011-10-06T19:47:41.471-07:00Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

Ok I don't actually want it to snow! My own challenge was to see how many cards I could get with a few sheets of coloured card stock and only ONE sheet of DP. I am super happy that I was able to get 7! I'm going to try for 8 the next time I try this. I ended up using a sheet of paper that was inspired by the Just Us Girls challenge and then I was further inspired by Freshly Made Sketches and then this morning I saw the Paper Players Challenge and wanted to play along with that on my 7th card!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 239px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pvRZyYs9jIQ/TnYnxu4VRUI/AAAAAAAAAVg/V_N9ozyjy78/s320/lanterncards.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5653750117561615682" />Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7812516079831275070.post-35114373827341443972011-08-13T19:40:00.000-07:002011-08-13T19:46:06.507-07:00GratitudeA thank you card to get me back in the swing of challenges :)

I found this challenge on the Southern Girls Challenge page. You should pop over and check it out!

I went with black and white with a pop of pink. I think I might try this with a different DP and matching flowers and see what kind of different looks I can make!
Well I was back to crafting this week. The only thing I have worked on since March was my sisters wedding invitations. I've been so busy with everything else in life that crafting took a back seat. I finally settled in to my new crafting space and re-organized it tonight and I feel a lot more inspired and a lot less crowded. So here are the few things I've done for my sisters wedding these past few months and if I get anything finished today I will post it too.

I'm going to try and look through lots of other people's blogs since I haven't had a chance to see all of the neat things people have been making lately.

L

This is the outsdie of the invitation ...

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-b0L78gLPteU/TkcOMA3Qo4I/AAAAAAAAAUQ/b4hxDhoZgWg/s320/Invite_Outside.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5640492657857831810" />

... you slide the "Tie the Knot" off and underneath is this:

I came up with this idea and I am super happy with how it turned out. What I like about this is you can really do so many different theme's around the tree, I can't wait to try more. Along the way catching up and looking at blogs I was inspired to play along at My Creative Time's weekly challenge, I used Accent essentials and green to fulfill the challenge requirements!

For some reason it's a bit blurry. The sentiment is "Get Well Soon" since you might not be able to read it.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-t5eTnHReV1U/TYb5t6ZHNPI/AAAAAAAAAUE/zmCGi_cOgS8/s320/papertree.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5586426954963694834" />Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7812516079831275070.post-64935898579033602222011-03-12T22:11:00.000-08:002011-03-12T22:17:05.917-08:00Your Tweet!Well ... I did that last post and then had to craft! lol. We were going to sit down for a movie and I made my poor guy wait for me to make a card.

I got my colour inspiration from the Color Throwdown ... I love the colour combo they have this week and I needed a little inspiration so it worked out well.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 257px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yfB4B8QSvDY/TXxg1JlKBEI/AAAAAAAAAT8/I-8d4SnL1l4/s320/yourtweet.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5583444104253670466" />

I should mention I saw the design while browing though a Stampin' Up book and I HAD to try it :)

LAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7812516079831275070.post-66315185139827641402011-03-12T21:18:00.000-08:002011-03-12T21:20:53.682-08:00Stylish BloggerWell I just wanted to take a minute to thank Brandi for the stylish Blogger award. I haven't been on my blog much and I was just trying to catch up with comments tonight and do a little catch up post. Thanks again Brandi!

As for crafting ... it's been a very small amount around here. Work, volunteer activities and life in general have taken over and will continue to win until April so hopefully I can sneak in a night or two now and then.

I can't wait to have some time to just read through and catch up with all the blogs!

LaurieAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7812516079831275070.post-29577936498329525542011-01-31T22:55:00.000-08:002011-01-31T23:03:21.842-08:00Strong Like a Lion!I was searching for another challenge to do and came to Sherri's Jitterbuggin' challenge site. I haven't played along in awhile so I thought I would use her design (plus yellow, stripes and a cricut cut) to come up with a card for Charlie. Charlie is a little boy suffering from EB and Nicole (who I found through the Jitterbuggin' site) is looking for anyone interested in making a card for this little boy and his family. This is Nicole's site HERE if you would like to make a card or read more about Charlie. Her card is what inspired my Lion and helped me to come up with my "be strong like a lion" theme.

I am also going to put this card up over at Fantabulous cricut, where there theme is all about support this week, in hopes that other people might get inspired to send this family a card.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 313px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_LTUauY9LHIM/TUevm_Wd9dI/AAAAAAAAATY/8nwUr_PCt48/s320/ClearLionCard.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5568612548642469330" />

This card is created on clear plastic with the actual opening for the sentiment in the circle in the middle.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_LTUauY9LHIM/TUevqoXHh0I/AAAAAAAAATg/xReIe1g1YNo/s320/ClearLionCardInsides.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5568612611190654786" />Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7812516079831275070.post-25816117829575548332011-01-30T22:04:00.000-08:002011-01-30T22:15:45.344-08:00Be Mine ... Or Else! :)I was browsing the lovely blogs on my favorites list looking for inspiration for a Valentines card for my sweetie (awwww! lol) and I found some Mojo at Mojo Monday and I also found Paper Player's open challenge which I of course had to do! UPDATE: Totally missed the deadline at Mojo by just a little. Oh well it was still a fun design! :)

This is done with some basic cardstock bits I had one hand plus some fun bronze metallic paper. I found the heart paper at a local store and it was to cute to pass up. I accented with some rough/lacy/don't know how to describe it ribbon type material :) and some flower soft on the leaves.

I am hoping to get back to crafting more then once a month so hopefully getting back to going through the blogs and looking at all the wonderful work will be the inspiration to sit down and craft even if it is just for an hour.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 220px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_LTUauY9LHIM/TUZSW2pduzI/AAAAAAAAATQ/gGVw5vIycR4/s320/bemineorelse.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5568228541870226226" />Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7812516079831275070.post-13971423482714672732011-01-30T21:57:00.000-08:002011-01-30T22:04:02.098-08:00Froggy LoveHi Everyone! Once again this is my first post in forever. My move is done and the house is in enough order that I don't feel too bad making a big mess crafting! :) This flower arrangement is for a class that I am hoping to do at our lovely local Scrappers Anonymous. It was done a bit late because of the move so I am hoping the project gets out there and sparks enough interest to be a go!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_LTUauY9LHIM/TUZQBQOCVfI/AAAAAAAAATI/AGAoMmRlTwE/s320/frogbq.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5568225971754128882" />

I would also like to thank people for their comments on my last post. I"m sorry I didn't get a change to respond personally.

I am off to finish my first card in over a month!! I was inspired by a few blogs out there and will be posting in a few minutes once I finish a few details and take a few photos.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7812516079831275070.post-24138575914745185142010-12-16T11:02:00.000-08:002010-12-16T11:06:11.382-08:00Nannie's FrameThis is an old photo of my grandmothers parents that I did up for her 70th birthday. She is a big fame of these classic colours and so I tried to incorporate that into the design. I am happy with the way it turned out.

I don't think there is a challenge out there that this fits so I will have to post it for pure fun :)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_LTUauY9LHIM/TQpi6UOEL7I/AAAAAAAAAS4/3oNRzu-gznY/s320/Mannfamilysmall.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5551358244687196082" />Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7812516079831275070.post-75131561074502956022010-12-16T10:50:00.000-08:002010-12-16T11:02:45.799-08:00I did not fall off the face of the earth ....Well I am back to my little blog after a very busy November/December. I finished school, helped organize a dinner for 160 people to raise money for Christmas hampers, did a caroling competition and taught my first ever card class. So I did have good reasons to be busy but I really missed doing all the blog challenges and being inspired by every ones creative minds.

To start my postings off I wanted to share a picture of the class I taught at Scrappers Anonymous. It was a blast and it was thrilling to have people make a project that I had designed.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_LTUauY9LHIM/TQphxv8x9XI/AAAAAAAAASw/Kwl6c65kLYo/s320/class.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5551356998000440690" />

I will be posting a frame I have been working on for my grandmothers 70th birthday in a bit here and I will try and get the couple of attempts at some recent cards up too.

I am hoping to get back to some of the challenges this weekend but if it doesn't happen I wish everyone a very merry Christmas!

LaurieAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com2
