Is it tacky?

Can one even say "it's been awhile" if they haven't posted in 3 years? LOL! Is that tacky? I will make no promises as to the frequency that I will post but I do want to give it a whirl again so that I can join some card making challenges and challenge myself personally to craft more.

Here is a little something I have worked on previously for a friend and hopefully I will have more to post soon.

This is all done on the Cricut, other then the 3D base which I found on Pinterest and adapted it to fit the size of this project.

Have a great week! L

Purple + Spectrum Noir!

I've really gotten into the Spectrum Noir colouring lately and so I thought I would play along with there purple challenge.  This is a card that I have made multiples of in many different shapes etc because I think it is so versatile and simple but pretty!  Its hard to see but there is some white enamel accents on this card as well.  I'm really loving all of this colouring!

Make A Wish!

I'm jumping right back in with some challenges today after a few months of posting nothing.  I've been checking out all sorts of new blogs and trying out some new paper and tools in my craft room.  I found a few new challenges that I am going to try out this week and this one, Bitten By the Bug 2 and Crafty Boots felt like a great place to start.  I've been trying to pull my cricut out more so this was a great way to do that.

This card uses Birthday Bash cartridge by Provo Craft  and this new fantastic paper I just got called paper layerz which is made for the cricut and is coloured coordinated with 9 different squares of colour and pattern on the page so you don't need to switch out tons of paper to make your card.  I did this whole card with one sheet of the paper layerz and a piece of black and white.

Some sad, sad truths!

1.  I just published a comment from 2011 .... sad.
2.  I haven't posed since January 2012 ... sad.
3.  I haven't done a challenge in who knows how long ... sad.

I'm not going to make any goals here because I just can't promise how much I will blog but I miss it and I miss checking out all the other blogs out there for ideas and inspiration.  So I'm just going to try and be better. :)

I have some photos for a class that I will be doing at Scrapbook Parade in the near future.  It is a Christmas class which I thought would be sort of difficult to get in the mood for and shockingly it was not.  I put on Anne of Green Gables (one of my go-to crafting movies) sat down with a big class of water and got totally inspired for Christmas.  So here are the photos for that class:

There is some clear embossing that is not showing up will in the photos ....

I tried 3 shots of this and it still doesn't show that the bottom is made out of layered 1.5 inch circles all with different embossing ... you will just have to imagine it! :)

T|his one I think would make a cute gift card card.  It's tied shut and says do not open until the 25th!

There is some clear embossing "HO,HO,HO" above Santa's belt ...

Card Classes at Scrapbook Parade

Hi Everyone,

This is a combination post .... of two sets of card classes I am going to be doing at our local scrapbook store out here in Victoria.  Scrapbook Parade is close to home and the new place I will be spending my Sundays! lol  I will also be doing a card of the month club and these are the first two classes.

and

Its sort of hard to see but that card in the middle is a 3D box that folds into an envelope and I am love with this technique.  I'm trying to brainstorm some Christmas cards for next year using the 3D style.  I will try and get a few individual shots of that card so you can see it better.

If your interested in the details of the paper and line being used check out Scrapbook Parade and their facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/#!/ScrapbookParade

Thanks, L

Christmas Present Card

Hello wonderful crafting world. Well today I came across a blog that I must have just looked at their sketch challenge a certain way because it inspired me to create a present card. I tried to capture all of the elements they wanted with a little twist. I used a Christmas stamp that I have had for at least 3 years and never used (sad) and tried out my new nestabilities (spelling) for the tag. Side note on that: I got them to cut but not emboss, any idea's why that would be? I also broke into the pack of fancy new Stampin' Up paper that I have had for a few weeks now and not used. Overall I am happy with the outcome!

You should check out their site there is still a bit of time to play along! Scrapbooker's Paradise

I really need to get moving on Christmas cards (grand total of 2 now!) and now that we are getting later in November I feel the Christmas crafting spirit hitting me so hopefully I can make more!

I've been learning to knit since the beginning of the month and it has been an interesting challenge. I'm left handed but decided to just give it a whirl right-handed and its come out alright so far. I am just finishing up my very first knitted project, a scarf and I will post a picture soon.

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

Ok I don't actually want it to snow! That's just the song that I used as my inspiration for my card for this Weeks Paper Player's challenge!

This is just a different angle so you can take a peek at the different type of embellishment. I just love that fluffy white "ribbon"!

Lantern Cards #7 - Wishing You The Best Day Ever!

Lantern Cards #6 - Birthday Wishes

Lantern Cards #5 - Happy Birthday

Lantern Cards #4 - Tiny Thank You

Lantern Cards #3 - Celebrate With Style

My inspiration for my set of 7 cards came from the Just Us Girls challenge!

Specifically I am entering this card here:

But they did inspire me to make all of these! lol

Lantern Card #2 - Thank You

This was part of the group of cards I made but specifically for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge!

Lantern Cards #1 - It's Owl Good

This was designed to fit with a few challenges but specifically for the the Paper Players in the end.

7 Little Cards

Well I was inspired by two challenges last night and 1 this morning as I was finishing up my own personal challenge! My own challenge was to see how many cards I could get with a few sheets of coloured card stock and only ONE sheet of DP. I am super happy that I was able to get 7! I'm going to try for 8 the next time I try this. I ended up using a sheet of paper that was inspired by the Just Us Girls challenge and then I was further inspired by Freshly Made Sketches and then this morning I saw the Paper Players Challenge and wanted to play along with that on my 7th card!
