Christmas Present Card

Hello wonderful crafting world. Well today I came across a blog that I must have just looked at their sketch challenge a certain way because it inspired me to create a present card. I tried to capture all of the elements they wanted with a little twist. I used a Christmas stamp that I have had for at least 3 years and never used (sad) and tried out my new nestabilities (spelling) for the tag. Side note on that: I got them to cut but not emboss, any idea's why that would be? I also broke into the pack of fancy new Stampin' Up paper that I have had for a few weeks now and not used. Overall I am happy with the outcome!

You should check out their site there is still a bit of time to play along! Scrapbooker's Paradise

I really need to get moving on Christmas cards (grand total of 2 now!) and now that we are getting later in November I feel the Christmas crafting spirit hitting me so hopefully I can make more!

I've been learning to knit since the beginning of the month and it has been an interesting challenge. I'm left handed but decided to just give it a whirl right-handed and its come out alright so far. I am just finishing up my very first knitted project, a scarf and I will post a picture soon.

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

Ok I don't actually want it to snow! That's just the song that I used as my inspiration for my card for this Weeks Paper Player's challenge!

This is just a different angle so you can take a peek at the different type of embellishment. I just love that fluffy white "ribbon"!

Lantern Cards #7 - Wishing You The Best Day Ever!

Lantern Cards #6 - Birthday Wishes

Lantern Cards #5 - Happy Birthday

Lantern Cards #4 - Tiny Thank You

Lantern Cards #3 - Celebrate With Style

My inspiration for my set of 7 cards came from the Just Us Girls challenge!

Specifically I am entering this card here:

But they did inspire me to make all of these! lol

Lantern Card #2 - Thank You

This was part of the group of cards I made but specifically for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge!

Lantern Cards #1 - It's Owl Good

This was designed to fit with a few challenges but specifically for the the Paper Players in the end.

7 Little Cards

Well I was inspired by two challenges last night and 1 this morning as I was finishing up my own personal challenge! My own challenge was to see how many cards I could get with a few sheets of coloured card stock and only ONE sheet of DP. I am super happy that I was able to get 7! I'm going to try for 8 the next time I try this. I ended up using a sheet of paper that was inspired by the Just Us Girls challenge and then I was further inspired by Freshly Made Sketches and then this morning I saw the Paper Players Challenge and wanted to play along with that on my 7th card!

Gratitude

A thank you card to get me back in the swing of challenges :)

I found this challenge on the Southern Girls Challenge page. You should pop over and check it out!

I went with black and white with a pop of pink. I think I might try this with a different DP and matching flowers and see what kind of different looks I can make!

6 Months!

Well I was back to crafting this week. The only thing I have worked on since March was my sisters wedding invitations. I've been so busy with everything else in life that crafting took a back seat. I finally settled in to my new crafting space and re-organized it tonight and I feel a lot more inspired and a lot less crowded. So here are the few things I've done for my sisters wedding these past few months and if I get anything finished today I will post it too.

I'm going to try and look through lots of other people's blogs since I haven't had a chance to see all of the neat things people have been making lately.

Paper Tree

So I wanted to take a break from making the bouquets as gifts but still wanted to make something that could still be given as a gift for someone on the hospital. I came up with this idea and I am super happy with how it turned out. What I like about this is you can really do so many different theme's around the tree, I can't wait to try more. Along the way catching up and looking at blogs I was inspired to play along at My Creative Time's weekly challenge, I used Accent essentials and green to fulfill the challenge requirements!

For some reason it's a bit blurry. The sentiment is "Get Well Soon" since you might not be able to read it.

Your Tweet!

Well ... I did that last post and then had to craft! lol. We were going to sit down for a movie and I made my poor guy wait for me to make a card.

I got my colour inspiration from the Color Throwdown ... I love the colour combo they have this week and I needed a little inspiration so it worked out well.

I should mention I saw the design while browing though a Stampin' Up book and I HAD to try it :)

Stylish Blogger

Well I just wanted to take a minute to thank Brandi for the stylish Blogger award. I haven't been on my blog much and I was just trying to catch up with comments tonight and do a little catch up post. Thanks again Brandi!

As for crafting ... it's been a very small amount around here. Work, volunteer activities and life in general have taken over and will continue to win until April so hopefully I can sneak in a night or two now and then.

I can't wait to have some time to just read through and catch up with all the blogs!

Strong Like a Lion!

I was searching for another challenge to do and came to Sherri's Jitterbuggin' challenge site. I haven't played along in awhile so I thought I would use her design (plus yellow, stripes and a cricut cut) to come up with a card for Charlie. Charlie is a little boy suffering from EB and Nicole (who I found through the Jitterbuggin' site) is looking for anyone interested in making a card for this little boy and his family. This is Nicole's site HERE if you would like to make a card or read more about Charlie. Her card is what inspired my Lion and helped me to come up with my "be strong like a lion" theme.

I am also going to put this card up over at Fantabulous cricut, where there theme is all about support this week, in hopes that other people might get inspired to send this family a card.

This card is created on clear plastic with the actual opening for the sentiment in the circle in the middle.

Be Mine ... Or Else! :)

I was browsing the lovely blogs on my favorites list looking for inspiration for a Valentines card for my sweetie (awwww! lol) and I found some Mojo at Mojo Monday and I also found Paper Player's open challenge which I of course had to do! UPDATE: Totally missed the deadline at Mojo by just a little. Oh well it was still a fun design! :)

This is done with some basic cardstock bits I had one hand plus some fun bronze metallic paper. I found the heart paper at a local store and it was to cute to pass up. I accented with some rough/lacy/don't know how to describe it ribbon type material :) and some flower soft on the leaves.

I am hoping to get back to crafting more then once a month so hopefully getting back to going through the blogs and looking at all the wonderful work will be the inspiration to sit down and craft even if it is just for an hour.

Froggy Love

Hi Everyone! Once again this is my first post in forever. My move is done and the house is in enough order that I don't feel too bad making a big mess crafting! :) This flower arrangement is for a class that I am hoping to do at our lovely local Scrappers Anonymous. It was done a bit late because of the move so I am hoping the project gets out there and sparks enough interest to be a go!

I would also like to thank people for their comments on my last post. I"m sorry I didn't get a change to respond personally.

I am off to finish my first card in over a month!! I was inspired by a few blogs out there and will be posting in a few minutes once I finish a few details and take a few photos.
